Motorized window treatments planned for an Orlando home by My Walls Home Design
The My Walls Approach

Technology that disappears into the room

The best automation does not make a home feel more technical. It makes everyday routines quieter. Morning light arrives on schedule. Bedroom shades close without walking from window to window. Full-height curtains move together instead of being pulled by hand.

My Walls specializes in the window-treatment side of home automation: the fabric, treatment style, motor, power source, control method, measurements, fabrication, installation, and final calibration. When the selected motor and your existing system are compatible, we can also plan coordinated control with platforms such as Lutron, Savant, Alexa, or Google Home.

This is not a generic smart-home package. Every recommendation begins with the architecture, the daylight, the privacy required, and the way the room is actually used.

01

One team coordinates the treatment design and the motorization, so the technology does not fight the fabric, hardware, or proportions of the room.

What We Automate

Control designed for the way each room works

Start with one difficult window or coordinate an entire home. The treatment, motor, controls, and power plan are selected together rather than pieced together later.

Control Options

Simple when you use it. Careful behind the scenes.

The right control method depends on who uses the room, how often the treatment moves, whether the home is finished or under construction, and which systems are already in place.

Remote Control

A dedicated handheld remote keeps everyday operation direct and reliable without requiring a phone or voice assistant.

Wall Controls

Discreet wall keypads or switches create a familiar, permanent control point that feels native to the room.

App & Schedules

Open, close, group, and schedule compatible treatments from an app, including routines tied to time of day.

Smart-Home Coordination

When compatible, shades and drapery can join existing voice commands, scenes, or home-control platforms.

Systems we can plan around, depending on motor and existing setup

Compatibility is confirmed during consultation. Platform availability, wiring, selected motors, hubs, and existing equipment can affect the final control plan.

Power & Installation

The right system for the home you already have

A finished home, a renovation, and a new build should not receive the same default recommendation. We evaluate access to power, window size, treatment weight, expected use, and the level of integration you actually need.

  1. 01

    Battery-Powered

A clean retrofit option for many finished rooms, avoiding new visible wiring when the selected size and treatment allow it.

  2. 02

    Plug-In Power

Useful when a nearby power source can be concealed or integrated without disrupting the architecture.

  3. 03

    Hardwired Systems

Often the cleanest long-term solution for new construction, major renovations, large treatments, or deeper home-control integration.

03

Custom Fabrication

Every shade, curtain, and track is produced to the measured opening, with the selected hardware and motor accounted for.

Our team installs, dresses, groups, tests, and calibrates the treatments, then shows you how to use the controls.

Frequently Asked Questions

What to know before motorizing your windows

Can existing shades or curtains be motorized?
Sometimes. Retrofit feasibility depends on the existing treatment, hardware, dimensions, weight, condition, and motor compatibility. In many projects, replacing only the track, roller, or internal mechanism is possible; in others, a new custom treatment is the cleaner and more reliable solution. We confirm that during the in-home consultation.
Do motorized shades need electrical wiring?
Not always. Depending on the treatment size, motor, and expected use, the system may be battery-powered, plug-in, or hardwired. Finished homes often benefit from battery-powered solutions, while renovations and new construction may be better suited to concealed hardwired power.
Can the treatments work with Lutron, Alexa, Google Home, or Savant?
Compatible configurations can often coordinate with these platforms, but integration is not universal. It depends on the selected motor, hubs or bridges, existing equipment, software, and project scope. We verify compatibility before specifying the final system.
Can several shades or curtains move together?
Yes. Compatible treatments can be grouped by room, floor, or scene, allowing multiple windows to open or close together from a remote, wall control, app, schedule, or compatible home-control command.
What happens if the power or internet goes out?
The answer depends on the motor and control method. Many dedicated remotes and wall controls communicate locally and do not require the internet for normal use. Hardwired systems stop during a power outage unless the home has backup power. We explain the behavior of the selected system before installation.
How much do motorized shades and curtains cost?
Pricing depends on the number and size of openings, treatment style, fabric, motor, power source, controls, installation conditions, and integration requirements. Because every system is custom-made, My Walls provides a clear proposal after measuring the home and confirming the specification.
Which areas does My Walls serve?
